Circumvent

The Circumvent is my fish design built to excel when the waves are sluggish. It features the classic fish outline with a few modern twists. The nose is more streamlined and pointy, and the deep swallow tail incorporates a slight cutaway in the last 4–7 inches.
 
I’ve experimented with sharp wings and double bumps, but I feel the cutaways provide more accessible performance improvements for a broader audience. They allow water to break from the rail, giving you a pivot point near your back foot to help break turns.
 
Traditional fish are incredibly fast when you’re pumping down the line but can sometimes track too far when you’re on rail and want to change direction. The cutaway helps you redirect while also letting you wiggle the board through slow sections—or even fast ones—when you need to cover a lot of ground to make the wave.
 
The Circumvent can be ridden as a twin or a quad. The bottom has a single concave through most of the board, shifting to a slight double barrel concave between the fins, and finishing with a subtle vee panel off the swallow tail. I suggest ordering it at your height; advanced surfers can go up to 3 inches shorter.
